Hi there

I am new to this site so I would like to introduce my interests.  I am researching from Tenerife so as you can imagine it's not easy being so far away from the UK.  I am hoping that someone may have similar interests or could help me with historical documents particularly in Ridgwardine and Bearstone eg maps, leases of land etc. (I appreciate Bearstone is sometimes classed as Staffordshire and not Shropshire).  Needless to say I have ordered everything of relevance from Shropshire and Staffordshire Archives concerning these 2 places.

Here is where I am with my PLANT family:

William PLANT of Ridgwardine (born abt. 1790)

Bapt: I cannot find his baptism or the baptisms of any of his siblings but I think born about 1790

Death: GRO JQ 1863 06A/539, age 73, Market Drayton.  I cannot find his burial.

Married: Elizabeth Corfield, 01/10/1820, Drayton in Hales

Children of William and Elizabeth: Margaret  bapt. 20/08/1823, daughter of William and Elizabeth of Ridgwardine, farmer, Elizabeth bapt. 04/12/1832 of Hales, and John bapt. 13/04/1834 of Hales.

William born about 1790 had the following siblings: Samuel PLANT of Bearstone born about 1779 (and will of 1825), Thomas buried 05/04/1789, son of Samuel and Margaret of Bearstone (no baptism for Thomas), John of Bearstone born abut 1786, possibly married Hannah SWIFT 1829 Norton in Hales, buried 1841 Mucklestone and probate 1841, and Elizabeth born about 1780 who married William TEW.  I cannot find any of these baptisms and I am beginning to think they were not baptised.  They are all the children of:

Samuel PLANT of Bearstone, bapt. 1731 Mucklestone, will of 1809 mentions all the above children.  He married a Margaret who was buried 1825 in Mucklestone.  Again, I cannot find their marriage.

Anything of help would be much appreciated.

Kind regards

Lynne Scaife, Tenerife.

Hi Lynne, I've done some research for you. But I would like to know which of the Plant's is the lineage you are looking for. And are you also sure you have the right person etc.

Best Regards

J.P
