A relative was born at 12 New Park Road  in 1912 even though the mother was living at Kynnersley. Her mother lived in Pontervin. Does anyone know why she should go here to give birth or does anyone have a 1901 census reference for New Park which would enable me to search? Many thanks

Hello

In the 1901 census 12 New Park Road, Shrewsbury is at reference RG.13/2536 folio 172 page 39 and was occupied by Henry (61) (a self employed tailor working from home) & Jane (60) JONES and their two sons Thomas C (34) & Alfred H (30). They had all been born locally.

Have you already found the address on the 1911 census?  At the moment I can't get it to come up.

Thank you . I had found the 1901 reference but like yourself couldn't get the 1911 to work. Your message prompted me to try and find a neighbour who had remained at the address during the two censii. Eventually I did!  The address is still occupied by Jones but no relative to the previous tenants it appears nor to mine.

The rreference is RG14PN16073 RG78PN992 RD349 SD2 ED6 SN10

16073

So the mystery remains. I wonder when the area was cleared as it seems to be an industrial estate currently?
