I am trying to find the baptism for Edward LLOYD (1742 - 1820) who was blacksmith in Llanyblodwel and whose son, John LLOYD (1773 - 1850), was blacksmith and innkeeper of the Horseshoe Inn in Llanyblodwel.  Edward married Sarah OLIVER (1743 - 1804) in Oswestry in 1770. Sarah was from Llanyblodwel and all their children were also baptised in Llanyblodwel, but I have been unable to find a baptism for Edward there.  I have, however, found a possible baptism in Oswestry on 27 Feb 1742 for 'son of John and Anne LLOYD' and wonder if anyone has already researched this family and knows if this is the correct record.

Sorry I can't help. However if its any use, I have researched Emma LLOYD b. 1846 daur. of William LLOYD Innkeeper and Blacksmith of the Horseshoes. Presume William was son of John.

Hello David.  Yes, that is the correct family but I am looking 100 years earlier in 1742.  However, I am afraid I may have misled you over the date as I had carelessly put 1842 in my original posting but have now corrected it.  I have researched William's father and can pass on information if you are interested.

Hello Geoff,

My interest in the LLoyd family arises from Emma's marriage to William KYNASTON in 1878. Anything you have on her LLOYD line would be very much appreciatated. In return I will happily exchange what I have on KYNASTON.

Many thanks,

David. edge@churchcott1.freeserve.co.uk.
