My name is Leslie (Faircloth) Selph thank you for accepting me into the group. I am researchhing my family on my mother's side. Her maiden name was LITTLEFORD. I have our family traced to a Richard LITTLEFORD son of George and Hannah LITTLEFORD from Astley Abbotts, Shropshire. Richard and George and Richard's sister Hannah immigrate to the states via the ship Parachute. They eventually settled in Virgina. I think George's father was probably another Richard also from Astley Abbotts. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am mostly curious if St. Calixtus' church is where my family was buried and I am not sure how to do research using the parishes and registers. I do have an ancestry.com account but I am sure I am missing more info that is not included at ancestry.com.

The Shropshire parish registers (up to 1900) are available on the subscription web site Find my Past.
For the surname LITTLEFORD there are 45 baptisms listed and 44 burials between 1780 and 1890 plus 14 marriages.
It might help if you gave us the dates of birth/baptism of your relatives and any death/burial dates you have.
You can get a one month half price world subscription to FmP by following the link in the latest Lost Cousins Newsletter. If you don't want to continue the subscription after the month make sure you cancel it before the end of the month.
To find the Shropshire records on FmP click Search on the blue bar at the top then select A-Z of record sets (at the bottom). Type Shropshire into the search box and you will see a list of the available Shropshire records. When you select a particular set just enter LITTLEFORD in the surname box and start typing Astley Abbots in the place box then click on the place name that comes up and finally click Search.
