I'm trying to get information on my great grandfathers life, he was born in Wolverhampton in 1874, his name was William George JOHNSON. He was taken to the Red House, High St, Wellington aged 7 to live with his sister who had married a Mr JACKSON, he was a primitive methodist and gave his first sermon at age 11 at Burcot House on Shrewsbury Rd. He became a lay preacher at Tan Bank Methodist Church and married an Alice BENNETT from church pulverbatch Pontesbury. They had children, one being my grandad William George JOHNSON in 1901 he had a hardware shop and wagon delivering parrafin etc around the villages.

William was born in Wolverhampton, I know his older sister was at least 10' years older than him and when she married William JACKSON she took William to live with them they also had a adopted daughter Jane JONES, we always were told it was a family scandal why William was took to live in Wolverhampton but I have had no luck tracing his real parents in Wolverhampton.
