I am trying to find my great great grandmother Hannah EDWARDS (nee LEEK(E) to progress my family tree. She was born Hannah Leek(e) in Ellesmere around 1833, married William Edwards in 1859. I have her on all the relevant census returns up until 1881 when she was listed as a widow (aged 44 although I think she would be around 48) and still living in Ellesmere and then she disappears. I can't find a death listed for her or that she married again. I'm hoping someone on this site may be able to help. Any ideas or comments would be gratefully appeciated.
Hi Graham, thanks for your post. Hannah's parents were Samuel Leek(e) and Mary Howell. Thanks for saying you will keep a note of her for future searches. Just another mystery to solve I guess!
Nope, haven't come across a Samuel LEEK(E) in my research and the 3 Mary HOWELLs I have are all too young and from the wrong areas. Maybe one day perhaps
Just bumping this back to the top of the pile to see if anyone has any information about my great great grandmother. Can't believe its almost exactly 5 years since my first post and I'm still looking for her death certificate!

Hello Alison
You might like to have a look at the Shropshire BMD web site <http://www.shropshirebmd.info/> which has had many new records added since you originally posted your query.
Mike
Thanks Mike, I'll take a look.
Alison
Hi Alison, I have LEEK(E)s from Ellesmere that married CLARK(E)s and GRINDLEYs but they were mostly a generations too early for your Hannah. I will note Hannah and see if she pops up in future searches.
Good luck.
