Hello all - I am trying to track down any information on David LEAKE and/or anyone who came before him. Here is what I know so far:

Birth

1792 • Shiffnal, Shropshire, England

Marriage - to Sarah Cooke TILLEY

27 Jan 1812 • Wrockwardine, Telford, Shropshire, England

Death

Jun 1858 • Shifnal, England, United Kingdom

-------------------------------

Their children were:

  • Richard Leake (1814–1886)

  • Hannah Leake (1816–1900)

  • Mary Leake (1819–)

  • Sarah Leake (1821–1900)

  • John Leake (1823–1874) - 23 Sep 1823 • Wrockwardine Wood ---*My 3rd great grandfather*

  • Thomas Leake (1825–1900)

  • Francis Leake (1827–1905)

  • David Leake (1830–1895)

  • James (1833–)

  • Elizabeth (1833–1905)

------

I am finding it quite difficult to find any information on him. Parish records and other resources have only shown his marriage to Sarah TILLEY. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Best,

Matt Leake - Philadelphia, PA, USA

Hello again - I just wanted to check in and see if anyone had any suggestions for other resources, online or other, that I could investigate? Ancestry.com has been a deadend and googling as well. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Best,

Matt Leake - Philadelphia, PA, USA

David LEAKE was born Feb 10 1792, Son of Rich'd LEAKE of Pains Lane, Labr & Hannah his wife. According to his baptism on Feb 15 1792 at Shifnal Anglican Church.

He was married, by Banns, to Sarah TILLEY 27 Jan 1812 at Wrockwardine Church by Joshua Gilpin (Vicar), they both signed with "X" Mark, they were both of this Parish. Witnesses were Wm Pritchard "X" Mark & John Houlston (regular witness). Page 123 Entry 371.

David was living in Pain's Lane when he was buried 21 May 1858 at Chapel of St George's, Donnington Wood, SAL

These are all from FindMyPast that hold all Parish Registers from Shropshire Archives, so if you need to delve further this is where I would suggest you look.
