Hello everyone,
Although James DEVEY was born in Wolverhampton, he married Mary HEMBURY from Much Wenlock and lived in Much Wenlock.
James and Mary had 5 children, Thomas b. 1819, Elizabeth b. 1823, Sarah date of birth unknown and John b. 1827, the 3 birth dates I know all occurred in Much Wenlock.
I have found details of Thomas and John in the 1851 Census, both married and living in Much Wenlock. Both are Master Shoemakers, Thomas living at Bullring, Much Wenlock and John living in the High St, Much Wenlock. I have found Thomas in the 1861 Census, living in Barrow St. Much Wenlock, with his wife Mary and son Frederick, who was 15 and a Bricklayers Labourer. I have found nothing on James - their Father or their Mother, and nothing on John after the 1851 Census. Any information, however small would be so helpful, thank you.
The Family line goes down through Elizabeth DEVEY who married Samuel LLOYD on the 5th November 1844 in Much Wenlock.
