Hello I'm looking for a marriage record for a Jane CLAYTON and a man with the surname JONES. She is located in the 1891 and 1901 censuses as Jane JONES, widowed by 1891, born 1841 in Walcot, Shropshire, England. Her three children are Henry Arthur JONES born 1873, Albert George JONES born 1878, and Mabel Jane JONES born 1880. They are all born in Wellington, Shropshire, England.
I believe she likely married between 1870 and 1874 in Shropshire close to Wellington. The censuses say she lived at 79 New Street Shakespeare Inn for both censuses. Any information would be helpful.

Thank you for your search. I hadn't thought to look earlier for their marriage believing that I had found all of their children. So thank you again. I'll look into their family some more to find other children for them.

If you do a marriage search on FreeBMD for the period 1860 to 1875 there appears to be only one likely marriage and that is in the Jul/Aug/Sep quarter of 1863 in the Shrewsbury Registration District. If you have access to the subscription web site Find My Past you can search the original Shropshire Marriage Registers where the same marriage appears but with much more detail. They were married on 2 Sept 1863 at St Mary's Church, Shrewsbury and her husbands name was Thomas JONES.
I was concerned that if they married in 1863 why have you not found any children born before 1873 but the 1871 census shows them living at the Shakespeare Inn with a son William Thomas JONES born c.1866/7 so may be there are others yet to be found. Try to find them in other census years.
