I'm trying to find the burial place of Alfred Ormond EDWARDS and his wife Eliza Fanny.

Here is what I know about their deaths.

Alfred Ormond EDWARDS of Bella Vista, Bridgenorth, Shropshire died 4th April 1923. age 72

Alfred was born 12th October 1850 at Skyborry. His father was a farmer at Skyborry Farm, Skyborry, Shropshire (this is less than a mile from where I live in Knighton, Powys.)

Eliza Fanny EDWARDS of Bella Vista, Bridgenorth, Shropshire, widow died 18th December 1937, age 87

A little on Alfred - Alfred was one of 12 enthusiastic sports fans (six English and six Italian) who founded the Milan Cricket and Football Club. Later to become AC Milan (Associazione Calcio Milan) -  (Association Football Milan)

Now I understand that just because their address and registration of their deaths was in Bridgnorth, it doesn't necessarily mean they were buried there.I need to start the search somewhere, so start with what I know.

Any help would be gratefully received.

Hi,

Several years ago a Dr. in Art History & Criticism of Milan University made a similar enquiry by writing to the local Bridgnorth newspaper.
I responded with various facts and photographs of the EDWARDS grave.
Give me a few hours to retrieve the information.

Thank you very much Gwynne, that is very kind of you. I had searched everywhere online and had come up empty handed.

Thank you again

Hi,

I'm not sure if posting an image here will work or not.

More to follow if it does work.

Thank you very much indeed Gwynne. That is fantastic. May I ask where they are buried?

I would also like to ask a further question of you but would rather ask privately. Is there a way that private messages can be sent on this forum?

Thanks again

Are you the author of the article in the current SFHSJ?  I am studying the same family through John Edwards, uncle of Alfred.  If anyone wants any more information on the family, I would be please to help.

This is Victor Rafael Veronesi writing, the  Dr in Art history and critics, graduated in 2012 with best marks, after having studied a famous and disappeared  artwork collection of XIX century (belonging to the calcographer Giuseppe Longhi*)  seen also by Lord Byron in his visit to Milan.

I have written to Mr Chadwick between 2013  and 2014, probably when I was enrolled into a stage into the A. C. Milan Football club (Milan) as a  newly graduated to the Università of the Studi di  Milano.

The stage have had  as term the end of May 2014 (30).

I was probably the first person to get interested after years with a correct  approach to Mr Edwards and to identify him with the person dead in 1923, not to assume his death in 1909 as reported before,

In that period I have also written and made some phonecalls (with my own mobile phone  ) to a person that seemed for some searches done through Ancestry's database and other ones of the same type connected to the Edwards family ( a descendant of the relative) , living I think in New Zealand.

Best regards and sorry for the eventual mistakes inserted into this short , but compulsory message.
Actually  (since May 2014) I'm not working for  the famous football Club and I don't have a 'stable' unemployed (as many Italians)

* To this collection belonged also the so called Rest on the flight to Egypt of the Crespi (Cerano) of the Ashmolean of Oxford (the information given by the website on the provenance of the artworks are wrong and of this thing is also aware actually its   curator )
