My Husbands family tree contains births, marriages and burial records going back to 1636. I know it was rebuilt in the 1700's but I would like to know when the previous church was built. I know it replaced a Saxon chapel built about 1086 and a priest was also appointed about that era. I find it difficult to reach the date of a new build. Has anybody any idea? I have been on various websites including British History on line but not easy for me get a date.
