Monthly talk - Brian Atkins: A Postal History of Shropshire

Brian will join us to take a fascinating look at the history of the postal service from the reign of Henry VIII up to the present day with lots of illustrations and artefacts on display from his collection.

David will join us to talk about the D Day experiences of four Shropshire soldiers who landed on Sword Beach, including his father in the rifle company of the KSLI.

Janet will join us to talk about her ancestor, a clergyman of questionable character. Janet describes how she researched her ancestor using historic newspaper archives and gives hints and tips, with handouts, on how to use newspapers to research the most mundane of ancestors.
